The Home Stretch
So there's no escaping the fact that we're now in the final month of DRIVECLUB's multiplayer, so there's never been a better time to get that PS Plus subscription renewed and jump in! Don't forget this is your last chance to get the multiplayer and club Trophies so if you're still chasing that platinum don't delay!
I'll be online whenever I can, I hope to see you in a lobby!
Also, lest not forget, the shutdown of the game doesn't mean the end of the wiki. There's still plenty of gaps and missing info here on both the online game, but also the offline Tours (Not to mention DRIVECLUB VR.), so don't hesitate to contribute if you notice something amiss. It'd be great to get the online aspect of the game covered before the shutdown for archival p…
Five Years Young!
Happy 5th birthday DRIVECLUB! Woop woop! You don't look a day over 3.
It seems like only yesterday Evolution Studios revealed DRIVECLUB to the world at E3 2013, and here we are all these years later. Crazy.
While the server shutdown may be looming, and the game may have been removed from the (European) PSN Store, the game is still as fun as ever. To my eyes, ears, and hands, no racing has managed to match DRIVECLUB's combination of graphics, sound, and gameplay. An incredible feat, considering in those 5 years, we've even seen more powerful versions of both this generation's mainline consoles be launched. The work Evolution Studios did was amazing, it's sad they're not still around to celebrate this milestone with us.
Online multiplayer or no…
The Beginning of the End
And so, DRIVECLUB has been removed from the PSN store, a move that wasn't without it's controversies. As of time of writing, DRIVECLUB and it's DLCs are still very much available to buy from the US PSN store, but for how long who knows. If you have a US copy of the game I strongly recommend grabbing as much as you can, as soon as you can.
Anyway, Wiki news, been a slow week this week as I've been busy with other things. CSS, LUA and HTML continue to haunt my dreams so progress on navboxes is slow. Aside from that, I'm beginning to replace the IGCD images with 1080p ones, unfortunately, my photography skills aren't as good as "Star Wars Fanatic's" over on IGCD, but hey ho.
Finally, I'm still finalising the framework for the artcles of the tra…
Navboxes Are Hard and Other Ramblings
Yippee ki yay all the car and bike articles have been made, woop woop. Admittedly most are pretty bare bones but the framework is there to build off of. I'm still undecided as to whether to add the vehicle performance info to the vehicle infobox or not, share your thoughts below.
In other news I've been working on the aesthetics of the wiki, the new background is fairly obvious but the new header colour and wikia logo may not be, subtle changes, but the wiki now uses colours defined by the DRIVECLUB brand video that leaked eons ago. I feel it's a nice touch.
So what's next?
Well as the title says, I've been slowly figuring out how navboxes work. Progress is being made, I'm still settling on a style, but as there's no rush for something as fr…
Admin Stuff and the Dreaded To-Do List
'Sup Kids,
So transparency time, a few days ago I applied to adopt this wiki as it had been abandoned by it's founder and it's editors, sad I know, but good news, I have been granted admin rights by our Fandom overlords and I am forever grateful.
So what does this mean for the wiki? Well, aside from it having an active admin now, really not much. Even before I had admin rights I was tiding the wiki up to meet my personal standards and had already unofficially taken it over. Things I will be working on are look of the wiki, I've been working on a new background image and I should have it up soon, along with the RGB values of banners and headers, simply to match those of the game.
That leaves the to-do list, bullet pointed table'd now for ease o…
aesthetics
Evening folks,
So if you've been on this wikia in the past week or so you may have noticed I'm in the process of cleaning it up and homogenising the style and general aesthetic. If there are any other editors out there willing to lend a hand, respond to this post or ping me via my talk page and I'll gladly create some page templates to follow.
I will be creating a to-do list in the coming days, mainly to jog my own memory on what to do, but it should go with out saying that other editors are more that welcome to help out and tick some things off themselves.
With the game being delisted from the PSN store at the end of this month, it'd be great to fill the wikia out to help people decide on what DLC to buy before it's removed forever.
Cheers,
J…
